Fish western Lake Erie for Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Perch aboard the Reef Bobber IV.   The Reef Bobber IV is a 28 foot Marinette Sport Fishermen with a beam of 11 feet. The fishing deck is large enough to accommodate up to 6 fisherman and crew with large coolers for seating.  Under the convertible soft top is seating for 9 to get out of the sun and weather. Under the bow is plenty of room to store your gear and a toilet for when nature calls.  The boat is fully equipped, insured, and Coast Guard inspected and approved.  Our Captains, Brad Miller and Dan Cooksey, are United States Coast Guard and State of Ohio Licensed Guides with a lifetime of experience.

When fishing with us, we try to keep the travel time to a minimum and the fishing time to a maximum, although we will travel as far as needed to get the fish. One of the benefits of fishing in the Western Basin of Lake Erie, when the waters are to rough, we can find a spot to hide and fish on the protected side of an island. We also work along side with many other charter captains, so if you have large group or a corporate event we can accommodate your group with multiple boats.

Walleye: We only drift or cast, no trolling. For walleye we use  a variety of weight forward spinners and worm harnesses tipped with a night crawler. If you choose to bring your own, anything with a gold blade works.  Call to find out what the "hot lure" at the time is before you buy. 

Perch Fishing: We set anchor and drop hooks tipped with minnows. It may not sound as exciting, but when the bite is on you can bring 2 up at a time. As with any fishing, you never know what you might bring up, walleye and bass are not uncommon. In fact the Ohio State Record Walleye was caught while perch fishing.  This is great fishing for kids and those who would like a more leisurely day on the water.

1/2 day Charters for Walleye or Perch  4.5 hours. 2 to 6 people $350.00. Leaves dock at 6 am, 12 pm, or 5 pm. Travel times are kept to a minimum to ensure the maximum amount of fishing time.  We target the areas from the East Side of South Bass to Middle Island to Kelleys Island and everything in between. Starting time varies depending on your needs.

Full day Charters for Walleye or Perch: 9 hours. 2 to 6 people $600.00. Most other charters do 8 hour trips, we give you extra time. We will cover a varity of spots and structure within a  20 mile radius of Marblehead. Starting time is 6-8am or 12 pm. 

Fishing and Sunset Cruise - 2.5 Hours: 2 to 6 people $200.00 Leave the dock at 6 to 7 pm. With only a short ride onto Lake Erie, we will arrive at my favorite evening spot, Short Reef, and do some drift fishing for walleye, bass, or whatever is hungry.  Rod, reel, and bait provided.

Custom Trips: Want to perch fish for a couple hours then dock on Kelleys Island, have dinner and drinks then cruise home as the sun sets?  Not a problem, we can put together a custom trip for you.

Things to bring

Fishing License along with identification. Most of our trips are in Ohio waters so you will need a valid Ohio Fishing License and also a drivers license or ID. 

Canada: If we are going to Canada you must have a Passport and a Canadian Fishing license, so please plan ahead. Also please purchase your Canadian License in advance, buy online and print at home. No alcohol is allowed in Canada.

Food and beverages, make sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. You may bring beer and wine but no glass bottles, and no hard liquor. No need to bring a cooler as we have a large food cooler aboard.

It is very rare when we cancel a trip, all trips are subject to weather and lake conditions and may be cancelled at any time for any reason.

There is no refund for trips that are cut short due to to sea sickness or based upon the clients decision to head back early. We will accomadate guests to the best of our ability, we always look for calm water hot spots first. 

Fish cleaning is not included in the trip. There is a cleaning table at the dock or you may negotiate with the crew to clean the fish. Also there are a few fish cleaners in the area.

*Open charters must have a minimum of 4 guests to go. If you sign up, I will let you know as soon as I can that we have met the minimum.
